We are on our fifth day of road trip. I am waking up in Farmington, New Mexico. As I entered the state, I shouted out 40/50 done. My younger son is not convinced. He still thinks I have cheated with Atlanta. Yup, transitioned so many times but have not entered the city or the state 😃! My bucket list and my rules 😂😂!

We have been living out of suitcases. My husband said, looks like we don’t need much to survive. Yes, I have my instant pot and we all have our tiny suitcase and enjoying life! I do not agree with him. This minimalist lifestyle on a temporary basis I am fine. But not on a permanent basis.

Oh we have been eating out a lot inspite of my instant pot 🙂

Anyway this trip has been a lot different. We have had a great learning experience with my young man. I also learnt not everything needs to be done by all and together during a vacation. It made things more successful yesterday.

We checked off our 17th National Park yesterday at Mesa Verde. Will be sharing pictures in another blog but this was worth all the drive we made yesterday.

Another long day on the road ahead. See you all with another travel experience. 🙂

    What a fantastic update Ganga! 40 out of 50 states is huge—and I love that your son is keeping you honest about Atlanta 😂. That family banter is half the fun of the trip!

    Mesa Verde as #17 is a incredible choice; those cliff dwellings must have been absolutely breathtaking after all that driving. And honestly, kudos to you for figuring out the “divide and conquer” approach to vacationing—it’s such a game-changer when you realize not every moment has to be a forced family huddle. That’s the real travel wisdom right there!

    As for the minimalist debate—I’m with you! Living out of suitcases is a fun adventure for a few weeks, but there’s nothing wrong with loving your creature comforts back home. It just makes you appreciate both sides even more.

    Safe travels on the long road ahead today! Can’t wait to see those Mesa Verde pictures. Enjoy every mile! 🚗🏜️

      As a pure vegetarian we can survive with just outside food. But it would become very expensive eating out😀!

        I am born non vegetarian but long since I cannot totally survive in meat based food. I am more at peace with vegetables.

    I love the tidbits of your trip and I had quite the chuckle that your Instant Pot is on your roadtrip with you. 🤣 I agree with you though – living in a suitcase is fine for a short while then you start craving the comforts of home.
