The humble idli!

It is Friday morning! The weekend is supposed to be a washout! We have a three day weekend and it is a bummer! My plans were to garden and let me see if I can do it. Rains are good for the soil! Bunny rabbits we are ready as my gardening season begins.

I have a different daily prompt than other people today on my phone. Then I checked my desktop and found a bunch of prompts new that I haven’t done. Interesting why it is different 🤔! Anyhow decided to write my own blog without any prompts.

Loce looking at the sheeps on the trail!

I posted another video of my son’s cooking on facebook. I had my dad alone like it! I don’t think it got any views. But my blog got six to eight likes! I don’t intend to market anything. I am just curious how facebook feed shows up on my friends’ page.

I ate up roaming data last week! I am not browsing anything outside home. Ha ha, a big sign of relief. My fingers feel good. The constant scrolling of reels does have an effect 🤣! As a person posting a reel every week I have found making one is hard but posting is easy!

So what did we cook this week? Humble idli and coconut chutney. My son is almost fluent with both but taking pictures was the hardest! Interesting point I had learnt about this South Indian dish idli. It has it’s roots in Indonesia. A chola king who conquered those island married an Indonesian girl and brought her over to South India. The maids who came along with her started making the dish! Maybe it was customized to the local taste. Parboiled rice and lentils soaked are grinded, fermented overnight and steamed for a very healthy breakfast.

    1. 💕💕! It is one Indian food that hasn’t been marketed much with all it’s health benefits 😃! Thought I should give it some visibility.
