My son remembers a lot of little details! It is part of his autism OCD! Me on the other hand watches over him and never notices anything around me!
Lately I have taken up the task of noticing my surroundings! I am being more aware!
I have been to an icecream shop with my son with his group during summer! Usually I do not get anything for myself but just see to it that I am just a caretaker! But the last time I went, I noticed something on the board! They served ice cream flight!
If you do not know what an icecream flight is, it is four different flavors served on a tray!
Yesterday, me and my young man hit the shop again! I ordered the flight! Vanilla bean, death by chocolate, peanut butter swirl and strawberry were the flavors I chose! My son’s eye became big! He went into Mouna or silence! We both went into an icecream coma! It didn’t cost much just ten dollars but it was all worth the experience!
I definitely need to notice more things! People say autistic people are in their own worlds! But autistic caretakers are in the autistic people world and I need to start coming out of it!
The only disadvantage the next time we pass through tbis shop my son would have high expectations! We may do it but just need to walk it off! Next time would be two flights with eight different flavors 🙂! Anyone willing to give us company?
