Moving on!

If humans had taglines, what would yours be?

I am a doer and not a moaner, a tagline for myself was the blog I wrote for this prompt. So that tagline was for me but for humans in general?

I need to think?

Whatever happens we move on!

Why am I saying this? I really wanted to make an India trip this summer. With war, we decided no to take that risk with my young man. Didn’t want to get stuck in airport!

But I wached Youtuber posting a video of her travel to India with connections in Doha, Qatar and traveling by an Gulf airways. She thought she was making a blunder traveling during wartime and as she entered the plane she found it to be full with no empty seats. Yes, people just keep moving on! I am really surprised the world did stop a bit during the pandemic. With war, the prices have gone up yet people try to lead normal lives.

I am happy for them. Moving on is good. Getting stuck is not going to lead you anywhere. The tourism and airline industry along with hospitality are huge and many people depend on it for their livelihood so I am happy nothing is stuck.

So my tagline for humans:

Whatever happens we move on!

This is a picture of the airplane that was getting defrosted during our travel last December. Yup, rain or shine or frost airplanes run 🙂!

So what about our India trip? Not this summer but sometime soon. I have already a bucket list of things to do there 🙂!

  1. I love this Ganga. Your tagline—“Whatever happens we move on!”—is simple, honest, and deeply human. It captures resilience without pretending things are easy. You’re absolutely right: the pandemic paused the world, but war didn’t. People still fly, work, laugh, and live. Not because they ignore danger, but because life keeps asking for an answer, and “stop” isn’t always possible—or wise.

Your decision to skip this summer’s trip wasn’t moaning, by the way. It was doing: protecting your young man, making a hard call. That’s moving on too—just on a different route. And that defrosted airplane photo? Perfect metaphor. Even in frost, the engines run.

When you do make it to India (and you will), that bucket list will taste even sweeter because you waited with intention, not fear. Safe travels, whenever they come. And thank you for sharing this—it’s a gentle nudge for all of us to keep going, even when the world feels shaky.

  3. I’m sorry your trip will not proceed but it is a good idea to avoid conflict – and also higher airfare costs. A colleague and her family was stuck in Pakistan last year for about two weeks and it was quite scary to hear how missiles were dropping nearby. I hope you get to check off your bucket list soon!

    1. Thanks Ab! Wenhave planned another vacation for our kids but it is not going to be the same as meeting grandparents. But we will make it and I am keeping fingers crossed. I trained my son for airplane flights but mot for International warfare and I do not have the energy to train him for being stuck in an airport for the wrong reasons 🤷‍♀️!

      1. Out of curiousity, how do you prep and support your son and his regulate for such a long flight. My son can do 4.5 to Mexico but gets quite fidgety by the end of it. I can’t imagine a lot flight to Asia with him as much as I want to explore it with him.

      2. Overseas flights have food! One advantage. They also let you move. But his sitting tolerance has increased drastically. He is going to be 29 years soon! Ipad music and puzzles do help. One flight he is definitely knocked out. The real problem is when we change for our connecting flights. If the airport is crowded it is hard. We traveled to India after 10 years and he really enjoyed it. I think you should try it with your kid. He may surprise you.

      3. I appreciate your thoughtful response. The iPad is a nightmare for us as it severely disregulates T – rages, swearing, aggression – which is so unsettling for all of us and he feels terrible after the disregulation passed. But good to know about the food and movie options! Our T surprises us all the time so I’ll definitely give this a try. On my immediate wish list are Switzerland, Norway, Italy, and China. Sigh, I need to win the lottery. 😂
