Life can change for FSS #97

As Kevin was boarding the bus, he knew he was heading back to the one place he hoped he’d never have to see again. The pandemic has made his life difficult. The restaurant he worked for had closed and he had to apply for the delivery company job he hated going back to it . But they were grateful to hire him and he needed insurance and the income. He hoped this would be short term and he could go back to his job at the restaurant. Maybe he could use this time to get some culinary training since most of the colleges are now online. So with a heavy heart he got into the bus.

Three years have passed since that day. He has a diploma in catering and he was now recruited by the same restaurant for a better position. The past few years of hard work had really paid off.

His dreams were now bigger. Maybe his own restaurant one day. Anything is possible if you keep an open mind, reminiscing he got into his new car.

I do not know anything about restaurant business and I do not know anything about delivery business. The pandemic did change many people’s lives. I thought why not give a positive spin to the pandemic with this flash fiction.

  1. It’s good to read a story with a positive ending every once in a while. 😉

  2. It is a good story. I have actually met a couple of people who did as “Kevin” and returned to schooling in order to have a better job or position when they did return to work in person. The remote working allowed them the time to devote to schooling. Thank you for putting a positive on a difficult time span.
