Happiness

It took a long time to accept my son’s autism diagnosis. His diagnosis maybe written in runes but his life is not. “Hush” , I tell myself whenever we both have a bad day. There are plenty of things in the world that can make us happy. He had so much fun at the pool yesterday. He was running between the hot tub and the lazy river, trying to enjoy the hot and tepid waters of both. This not only made me smile but even his therapist and some old people who were exercising at the pool.

I used two prompts today:

Ragtag Community Saturday Word: Hush

Sammicox weekend writing prompt: Rune

My first attempt using two prompts.

  2. Hi Uma, runes is a hard word, I had to Google it. I read runes is an ancient Germanic writing system. Maybe my long ago ancestors wrote in rune since I am German and Irish. It is funny that hush is also a writing prompt since I just heard on the radio one of my favorite songs from my teenage years called Hush. Ani is lucky to go swimming, it is so much fun, do you swim too?
