Which relationship has taught you the most about yourself?
Being a mother has taught me more than anything else! I am blessed to have two boys who are both adults. One has a lot of special needs and another a very typical one! It would have been wonderful if I had a girl, but this pair has made my life wholesome.
Lot of people talk about raising kids being expensive. You can’t put a dollar value to love and affection! I used to tease my second kid that he has to book me a vacation in Hawaii when used to drive to his swim classes during rush hour traffic! It was hectic, it was tiring and it was expensive. But memories stay.
My special one needs lots of care. I always say I do not love the kind of autism my son has but I love my son and recently I messaged a friend saying “things we do for them”, being typical or neurotypical!
If I had not been a mom, I would have missed on a lot!
