Comfort zone

Lunch today was at Panera Bread! It was crowded! We couldn’t get a booth or the seat my son normally prefers! He was a bit antsy. Once he finished his lunch, he just wanted to leave! No more lounging. It was too noisy for him and uncomfortable.

He had a busy morning, and the soup was the one he was waiting! Yes, Panera had nothing more to offer to him than the tomato soup today.

Then we drove to our park! It was muggy and humid. We chose a small loop trail! My son was calm. He enjoyed the shadow of the trees. Meanwhile me, was a bit worried about snakes 🐍 and anything mysterious in the bushes! I chose, my son’s comfort over mine and enjoyed the loop!

Both of us came home tired for a cup of coffee ☕️! It started drizzling! We enjoyed a beautiful summer day before the rains. Comfort zones change and I just adapted!

Yes, August continues to be wet!

  1. What a beautifully honest slice of life! You painted such a vivid picture—from the noisy, crowded Panera to the muggy, snake-worrying trail, all the way to that perfect, rain-kissed coffee at home.

Your adaptability really shines here: choosing your son’s calm over your own comfort, noticing his joy in the tree shadows, and embracing the shift in your comfort zone. That’s quiet, powerful mothering (or parenting).

And Ganga ji—August rains do feel like a blessing, don’t they? They wash away the heat and the hustle, leaving behind that earthy smell and a reason to pause with a warm cup. Here’s to more muggy loops, tomato soup wins, and drizzles that bring us home, tired but content. 🌧️☕️🌿

  2. The soup looks delicious
