A profound advice.

Daily writing prompt
What’s the most profound piece of advice you’ve been given? Did you take it?

When our entire family met our Guru, he addressed the audience. He said that everyone has problem and this is their problem. He pointed out to my son’s diagnosis.

It really cleared up two things. That nobody feels better about themselves not having an autistic child nor give advice to “me” regarding the same in pity.

In fact, that advice has really helped me a lot. There is no self-pity. Self-pity really destroys our everyday lives.

I am not going to elaborate more. I just hope people get what my Guru implied.

Happy 84th Birthday to my Guru Sri Sri Sri Ganapathy Sacchidananda Swamiji.

  3. What a powerful and liberating lesson from your Guru. By simply naming your family’s “problem” as yours—not as a tragedy, not as a burden for others to pity or advise upon—he reframed everything. No comparison, no victimhood, just clarity: this is your path, and self-pity has no place on it. That’s the kind of wisdom that doesn’t just console; it transforms everyday living. Wishing Sri Sri Sri Ganapathy Sacchidananda Swamiji a very happy and blessed 84th birthday. His words clearly continue to heal and set people free.

  4. I do appreciate frankness in people and this is about as frank as you get. No self pity indeed. Challenges and problems, yes. But also love and liberation when we accept our situations. 🙏
