Streaks and accomplishments

How do you know when it’s time to unplug? What do you do to make it happen?

I thought I would do my monthly blog review today morning. Then I remembered today being a Sunday I had a whole day ahead of me and I do not want know what adventures await me.

So expect something tomorrow morning.

Usually the month of June my internet usage automatically goes down. As we humans come out of wholesome hibernation. The sun rises early and sets late. You tend to do something or other out of the house instead of watching reels on your phone or binge watching shows on the big screen.

WordPress is now giving me awards. I like it.

I get this award for liking a post! What an accomplishment 😀!

  3. It sounds like you already have a great built-in signal: when the weather changes and you’d rather be doing something outside than watching something on a screen. That pull toward real life is often the first sign.

For me, the clearest signs are:

    · Reaching for my phone without any real purpose, just out of habit
    · Feeling slightly annoyed or drained after scrolling, even if I can’t say why
    · Realizing I’ve “checked everything” three times in the past hour

To actually make the unplug happen, I keep it low-friction:

    · Leave the phone in another room (even just across the room helps)
    · Go outside first thing, before giving myself a chance to pick it up
    · Have one small, tangible thing ready to do instead—make coffee, stretch, water a plant

And yes, the WordPress “award for liking a post” is beautifully ridiculous 😂. Sometimes the smallest, silliest recognitions are the most human. Enjoy your Sunday—sounds like the adventures are already finding you.
