Nothing to do with the prompt😃!

Are you a leader or a follower?

I remain committed to this prompt how many ever times it shows up! Yes, I am neither a leader nor a follower but a team player!

Now for the recipe for the week. It is a Karnataka recipe called kosambari. I tried a few weeks ago when my best came and he enjoyed it. So together with my young man made it!

Grated carrots are added to Moong dal and seasoned. My son loves to add this grated carrots to yogurt and have it as a raita so he was a bit upset that we didn’t do that way! Anyhow during lunch he mixed the same to yogurt and ate.

It is a very simple healthy salad. The carrot did give the salad a color and I did top it off with cilantro and raw mangoes. It needed a bit more tamginess and so we didn’t add some lime juice.

The kosambari or the salad has nothing to do with the prompt butit just filled up the page.

To know more about leaders and followers, follow news channels and you could find plenty of them 😀!

  1. I like that answer – “team player” is a solid balance of both leadership and followership.
And the kosambari sounds really fresh and healthy, especially with the raw mango and cilantro adding that extra flavor. Simple food like that is often the best.

  2. What a wonderful mindset Ganga—being a team player is truly the secret ingredient to any great collaboration, whether in the kitchen or in life. 🙌

And thank you for sharing that lovely kosambari story! The way you and your son adapted the recipe—him turning it into a raita, you adding raw mango and lime—sounds like a perfect example of teamwork in action. A little flexibility, a little creativity, and a whole lot of love. That’s the kind of salad that feeds more than just the body.

Also, your gentle nudge to watch news channels for leaders and followers? Noted and chuckled 😄. Keep being that steady, playful, and honest voice in the kitchen and beyond. Here’s to more tangy experiments and happy lunchtable compromises!
