A beautiful week!

Common winter water cress
Japanese cherry

It has been a beautiful week. I wrote about compartmentalization. Too many issues are in my plate now that bother me, but the weather is perfect and the trees in full bloom so closed those multiple problem compartments. Walking with my son, took two pictures and it matched his shirt so well.

The wild flowers on the trail were dancing to the slight breeze. I should have stopped to take a video but did not feel like it.

The Japanese cherry was in a parking lot. My son’s Special Olympics group walks the empty lot late in the evening during spring. Not much time to take a picture as we breezed past the tree. Who needs to be in Japan or Washington DC when they are in our own backyard.

  1. This is such a gentle and uplifting reflection—it feels like a quiet exhale after a busy mind. 🌿

I really like how you brought in the idea of compartmentalization, not as avoidance, but as a conscious pause—choosing, even briefly, to set things aside and be present with what’s beautiful right in front of you. That balance between life’s weight and life’s light is captured so naturally.

  3. This is such a peaceful, grounding reflection. You turned a week full of noise into a quiet walk with your son — and that act of closing those “problem compartments” to be fully present? That’s not small. That’s a quiet kind of strength.

The way you noticed the wild flowers dancing and still chose not to film them? That feels honest. Sometimes seeing is enough. No need to capture everything.

And your last lines really stay with me: Who needs to be in Japan or Washington DC when they are in our own backyard. Exactly that. Beauty doesn’t have to be famous to be real. A cherry tree in a parking lot, seen in a fleeting moment with your son, can mean more than any postcard view.

Lovely writing. Thank you for sharing it Ganga 🌷🤝
