Best of 2024

Written for Sadje’s Sunday Poser.

How is 2024 for you till now? It’s early to ask about your plans for the next year- but do you have anything exciting planned for the year ahead?

I think Sadje asked the same question last year too. That time I did not make a post and jinx it. I just commented saying I wanted to visit India in 2024. So, when I did make that trip this September, I would say it was the best of 2024.

The best part of the trip was our trip to Sholinghur, a town with two hills. Atop one is Yoga Lakshmi Narasimhar and another Hanuman. This first hill is 1305 steps and the second 406 steps. We climbed the two hills with my boy. We came down the first hill around 1.40 pm and we could have just not gone for the second hill, but we had so much energy that we did the second hill in another forty minutes.

The trip to India, us taking this trip to the hillock temple and climbing up hills has given me confidence to plan and execute things that may look hard with my son. So, yes, more adventures in 2025.

Anyhow, we have two more months left in 2024 and I want to keep my boy active. I have a 5k planned this month. So keeping fingers crossed, beginning the month with lot of positivity.

I did post these pictures, when I did my post Sholingur, but I think I should post these pictures again to highlight my best of 2024.

The cleaning lady in the picture (one behind my boy) was really a cheerleader . She even told my son, to stand properly when I was taking the picture.

  2. They are a lot of steps 😊, but the feeling of satisfaction will remain. I am glad your son liked the trip. What I like about our country is that people do not hesitate to show encouragement. Of course there are people who interfere in the wrong way, but that is part of life.

That must have brought feelings of homesickness for you. I could not imagine living in another country. I admire you and your family for living here and speaking English. That must be so hard. It is good there are many people near us that share your religion and are from India too.
