When it rains it pours!

After a fun weekend at Ontario (if you have missed , check it out here) we came home to find that we have so many maintenance, repair and replacement work. I think that is how life is. My Mom used to say this while I was growing up and I have seen in other people’s houses too. When it rains, it pours. In fact you do not know which one to prioritize and your hands are so full. Our place now has a shortage of labor that even if you have cash on hand you have hard time getting the labor to get it fixed😊.

A few months back the fridge was leaking. We found the water purification pipe was broken. Should we call the plumber or the appliance company. Same issue with the dishwasher a few years ago. Is it the appliance company or the plumber? When you have an issue with the gas stove, the appliance person will say I need permission from the gas company.

My son has been on the edge the past few days and his anxiety level is high and his stationary bike’s pedal came off. This was the icing on the cake. The bike engages him for a good 45 minutes and he went all bonkers when the pedal came off. The next few days, he is not going to be biking (until the repair person shows up) and he would have become lazy and it is going to be an ordeal for us to put him back on the bike.

I have a cousin who talks about minimalistic living. Calling the insurance company coordinating with the plumber or the electrician I think that hassle can definitely lead you to minimalistic living. Just a point, I deal with my son’s anxiety and my husband deals with the insurance and the plumbers and the electricians. For me known devil is better than unknown angel. I can deal with my boy and his anxieties but not with the insurance companies and claims.

  1. I hear you. I hope your son’s stationary bike’s pedal gets fixed and he’ll enjoy using it again. Thank you for your weekend coffee share.
