During the month of January I am doing a writing challenge and the prompt for today is:
Write a short story or poem about rain.
The rain was becoming a drizzle and the boy walked down the street after getting down from his school bus. He could see small puddles of water and the eight year old’s mind wanted to jump over it. He looked around to see if his Mom was there and saw his Mom far away talking to their neighbor. The older kids just kept walking as he jumped over some small puddles when he reached the biggest one. He was in two minds not to or jump over and in an instinct jumped over it and landed butt first in the puddle! Completely wet and muddy sitting in the puddle his eyes gazed at his Mom.
The Mom who was seen talking to her neighbor had an eye over her boy who was walking towards her home but acted as if she didn’t care. But the moment she saw him land in the big puddle, she calmly walked towards the boy and jumped into the puddle, splashing his face with water and laughter!

Thanks to Bloganuary, this is my first attempt at writing a story and I am happy I did something new.
