If you could have dinner with any fictional character, who would it be?

Any of my lead detectives from the mystery series I am watching 😊?

I just finished watching the latest season of Beyond Paradise. The lead detectives wife own a restaurant/coffee shop Ten Miler.

It takes place in a fictional rural Britan town of Shipton Abbot. No murders are committed just crimes you can expect in a small town.

I love his wife’s restaurant setting and her morning coffee with pastries always look good. Maybe travel to that fictional town and have coffee and pastries with DI Humphrey Goodman and his wife Martha would be funny. If his entire crew at the police station join me it would be even more fun.

The clumsy police officer was one of my favorites when I watched the original Death in Paradise so it was a no brainer for me to watch it’s spin off series Beyond Paradise.

Ha, all these shows are worth the extra ten dollars I am spending every month 😊!

    What a wonderfully cozy choice! Honestly, skipping the grand, world-saving heroes for a morning coffee with DI Humphrey Goodman and his wife Martha at The Ten Miler sounds absolutely perfect.

    Just imagine the scene: the steam rising off those perfect lattes, a plate of buttery, flaky pastries between you, and Humphrey getting adorably sidetracked by a cryptic crossword clue while Martha rolls her eyes with a smile.

    And yes—inviting the whole quirky Shipton Abbot police crew would be the real highlight! Can you imagine Kelby (the clumsy officer) accidentally knocking over a sugar dispenser mid-sentence, or DS Esther Williams keeping everyone grounded with her sharp wit while trying to actually solve a minor village crime between sips? It would be less of a “dinner” and more of a chaotic, heartfelt, laugh-out-loud breakfast club. I can already hear the charmingly off-key village gossip.

    It’s such a treat to watch a show where the stakes are low but the heart is huge—definitely worth every penny of that subscription!
