A roadtrip blog!

It was really hard to plan a trip for just two days! My bucket list is to visit National Parks. I knew I couldn’t do one in a weekend. But I knew I could try to check off a National Park site.

There are ten National Seashores. Federally protected beaches. I finally decided it was going to be Assateague Island seashore! As soon as I booked, both my husband and my younger kid said they had other plans and made me cancel it! Finally, ten days ago, I decided to go over the plans tweak a bit and rebooked again! Got one night for 50 dollars less and the next one I was able to use my hotel points and stay for free! The expression every thing happens for good really had a meaning here!

Lord Krishna celebrated his birthday but I used this opportunity and made snacks for our trip! The coffee stops now seemed good since I had tasty snacks.

Can we hit the road now with pictures?

First stop a temple in Maryland for a very late lunch!

36 foot Anjaneya
The spicy temple vegetable biriyani!
Crossing over the Atlantic! What a beautiful day!
And we were in Ocean City, Maryland!

For many many years, we had to drag our son to the water! He never liked getting wet! But last Saturday, the stars aligned and he did it! He walked towards the water and enjoyed the same! Ha, I am not a person who loves getting wet but I too had fun with him!

Ocean City’ Boardwalk had a lot to offer!

Sunday was our busiest day as we crossed four state borders!

Off to Virginia’s portion of Assateague Island! Marsh lands needs to be saved! Period! And I enjoyed the same on this side!

Chincoteague, the town on Virgina side had a lot of activities. We decided to visit a Lighthouse and do a one mile Marsh trail.

The next stop was back to Maryland portion of the Assateague Island National Seashore. The wild horses (with lot of local stories as how they arrived) are the showstoppers. For me, it was my son getting into the ocean the second day in a row was the highlight. The horses, the Atlantic and a well-behaved son, my husband did not want to leave the island.

The tiny grass holds the sand dunes! They are part of the ecosystem system!
The horses created traffic jam 😊

Then a two hour drive all through the state of Delaware! The first state!

This was to visit another temple which had a 70 ft Anjaneya! Sorry, pictures were not allowed!

Dinner here in Delaware and late at night we crossed back into Pennsylvania our home state. This is were I had decided we needed to sleep, and take a break and end our trip! Checking into the hotel we felt, we were home!

My son is hyper and on the move all the time! This trip was a go, go trip and it worked great for my family! I called myself an energizer bunny and I really don’t know how I squeezed this much into a weekend!

A short week begins but it is packed! My son continues to learn to regulate on all these trips and that is one reason I wanted to blog about it!

  1. What a lovely weekend adventure! 😊

  2. What a whirlwind weekend! I loved reading every bit of this—it felt like I was right there in the car with you, snacking on Krishna birthday treats and watching your son finally run toward the waves. That moment alone made the whole trip worth it, didn’t it? 🌊

You packed more into two days than most people do in a week—four states, two temples, two sides of Assateague, wild horses and a lighthouse? And you called yourself the Energizer Bunny—I’d say that’s an understatement! You’re more like a weekend wizard.

The way you wove in the little blessings—the cheaper hotel night, the free stay with points, your son’s breakthrough with the water—it all came together like the universe was cheering you on. And yes, everything really does happen for good.

Ganga ji, your blog is a beautiful reminder that road trips aren’t just about the destinations (though the 70-ft Anjaneya and marsh trails sound incredible). They’re about the tiny victories—the snacks that hit just right, the horses causing a traffic jam, and the sandy, salty joy of watching your family find their rhythm.

Keep dragging that hyper, wonderful boy to new places. He’s learning more than you know—and so are you. Can’t wait for the next blog! 🐴☀️🚗

  3. My nephew stays in Delaware. I could relate to that. Hectic trip but sure you enjoyed.

  4. Your roadtrip sounded wonderful – and it’s great there were temple visits along the way too. The water can be such a healing place for our children. Glad your visit worked out the way that it did!

    1. Water is healing but it comes with wet sand! It can he hot or too cold! So to get the perfect vacation in a beach is hard 🙂! Will plan more since I came to understand the perfect time 😃🤷‍♀️!
