A food blog!

Daily writing prompt
How do you build loyal subscribers?

When I started blogging, I had to ask Mr. Google what attracted people. Mom blogs attract people he said. But he also said travel and food blogs attract people.

My blog is full of all the above three contents. My life’s crazy drama along with travel and food. Thanks to all the loyal subscribers. There are many who follow me and I am a bit behind in following up with them since my life is crazy as I said.

I just want to be truthful. This is a space that I created for myself. It is a place that is solving my midlife crisis. Instead of doing obnoxious things or running away I created MYSPACE.

That said, with all the life’s drama I forgot to blog what I cooked with my young man last week. This has been week ten of posting his videos on Facebook. I requested my immediate family to comment on it. I just got one single like and no comments. I really felt a bit demotivated and some days need cheerleading. So to cheer myself up I am going to recap and post all the food we cooked from April 2nd which was World Autism Awareness Day. Just giving myself a pat on my shoulders “yay me”.

The Avocado raita

His favorite bread bajji

Tomato chutney for a sandwich spread

Tomato rawa instant dosa

The pressure cooker mixed vegetables subji.

The raw mango thogayal or chutney

The Not so favorite crunchy salad Karnataka famous kosambari

The ever so best breakfast, the humble idli.

My favorite of all and my amma’s recipe that she passed to me from her chithi (aunty) the vatha kuzhambu.

And this week’s recipe cabbage, cashew and onion pakora.

It feels so good to reflect on the past two months. Another week is popping up and I have nothing planned. We take it as it comes. Maybe one day we would not only cook for ourselves but have a party and share it with all.

  1. What a heartwarming and authentic post! I love how you have created a space that reflects your real life—its joys, challenges, travels, food, and everything in between. That honesty is what keeps readers coming back.
