Walking for a cause!

Today I saw a garden snake 🐍 on my walk! It looked exactly like the emoji. Further investigation showed it was dead!

The brave thing was I continued the walk with my young man. Remember the snake 🐍 would definitely have a family and they would be living on the trails. I also took the risk of entering a bushy trail. Call me a soldier and give me an award. I did it. Further thoughts? Did I risk myself? It was just a garden snake. I hope nothing to worry about it. But will be watchful from now on.

The weather is becoming hot! Afternoon walks are not recommended anymore. Need to do early morning or late evening ones.

My initial 25 dollars was matched by Richard King Mellon foundation!

I am walking 30 miles in June and I walked 1.88 miles with my young man today to fundraise for Greater Pittsburgh foodbank. Check the go fund me link if you wish to donate!

I will be updating my blog with my miles. So bear with me. 🙂

My log paper 🙏

I plan to walk alone as a “me” thing but there are days my kids may accompany me and today was one day. Didn’t expect to see that snake 🐍!

  1. That sounds like quite an adventurous walk 🌿🐍

First off—seeing a snake (even a garden snake, and even a dead one) can definitely give a little jolt, so it makes sense that it caught your attention. But from what you’ve described, you didn’t really take a dangerous risk. Garden snakes are generally non-venomous and shy, and since it was already dead, the immediate threat was essentially zero. Your decision to continue the walk calmly shows presence of mind more than anything else.

    1. Thanks. But I still have more miles and I hope I do it without a break.
