The weather was perfect!

We started the day with frost warning!! I hope this is the last since most people have started their garden work!

Around noon the temperature increased we decided to visit ISKCON’s New Vrindavan Krishna Temple in West Virginia. Looks like we are crossing state borders but without traffic the driving time is just an hour.

We usually visit once or twice a year. Usually it is during a hot summer day or a cold winter afternoon! We rush to pray at the alter, have something to eat and leave but today being a perfect weather day we decided to make an afternoon out of it!

Here are some pictures! Inside , outside and around New Vrindavan!

Our first stop was Govinda’s cafe! The masala chai with a strong ginger and cardamom was perfect for the spring afternoon..

Inside the temple, Hare Krishna chants and dance was going on and my young man decided to sit and enjoy. I would say he was in his element! He thoroughly enjoyed the music, the percussion and the dance!

Our next stop was the Cow shed! We tried feeding them but they seemed to be independent and fed themselves! Their garden was getting ready for planting and nothing much to see today.

The mating season for peacocks is spring. So the walk was noisy and the cocks were showing off their feathers! I did get a selfie with a peacock but it did put down it’s feathers when he saw our family!

The lake, the sculptures and a mile walk completed our day! Of course mom and son love taming a selfie!

Looks like they have a lot of guest houses to spend the night. We were invited to spend a night or two there by a volunteer in the temple! He invited us with our young man! He was in his best behavior 🙂! Is it going to happen? I do not know! Maybe just add it to our bucket list and be happy we spent a glorious day outside in a beautiful place with cows and peacocks 🦚!

  1. This feels like such a peaceful, heartwarming slice of your day. The shift from a frosty morning to a gentle spring afternoon sets the tone so beautifully—it almost feels like the day itself invited you to slow down and enjoy something meaningful.
