Commitment

A week’s wrap up for Natalie’s weekend coffee share!

If you are a family or friend who follows me on my whatsapp status you would have noticed it was a busy week for my young man!

I finished my physical therapy yesterday, and the way the week went I know I am very on my way to recovery! Yes, I committed doing somethings this week and I got it done!

I made my special young man type 100 shlokas or verses from Ramayana, a Ithihasa. A task we spent 200 minutes in total.

The first 100 verses in Ramayana gives the gist of the entire Ramayana, so it is special

Thanks to my supportive husband, my young man participated in Special Olympics this weekend! He really did good and I am proud of him but thankful to his dad who tried his best during practice and off practice since my mobility was limited the past two months! Every time he was in a practice I was at my PT! My son doesn’t play any game but shows off his skills, Dribbling, shooting and passing the ball!🏀

My young man’s music teacher patiently taught him the raga Sankarabharanam both varnam and notations and we practiced sincerely. We didn’t miss any classes and I successfully recorded a Rama song on vocal and a notation on keyboard!

He was also back in the kitchen cooking and he also didn’t miss any of his groups.

The vadas we made for Rama Navami

My young man was not perfect but we both committed ourselves to multiple tasks but did it diligently without missing practices or skipping things.

My husband keeps saying I am spoiling him by appreciating him a lot and he is trying to be the bad cop for his behaviors! Oh, I sincerely hope that his dad being a bad cop will only lead to him getting better.

We begin track next week for Special Olympics, the raga Sankarabharanam on keyboard needs to be practiced more and now I know my son’s patience level on keyboard sky is the limit!

I would say my commitment for the week paid off!

  3. Wow, Ganga ! what a full and beautiful week! Your young man is truly thriving, and it’s so clear that your love, consistency, and encouragement are a huge part of that. The fact that you both tackled so much—shlokas, Special Olympics, music, cooking—with such diligence is amazing. And I love that you’re celebrating the progress, not perfection. Wishing you continued healing and a great start to track week! 🙌❤️
