I vote for the train!

You’re going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, car, or bike?

Call me privileged but have done long distance travel on all modes of transportation other than bike.

Love train rides and hands on that would be my personal choice. Real sad, that is an expensive form of transportation in the States.

I have done multiple train travels while I was living in India and even when we went for vacations. If traveling from Chennai in the South to Delhi in the North is considered a cross country travel have done that couple of times. Packing food from home and enjoying the breeze and eating the same had always been the highlight of those train travels. We were always warned not to put our hands or faces out the window. But loves soing that.

I have just made one trip to Mumbai and I remember spending 24 hours of the travel reading crime novels with my mom. Those novels came in pocket sized books and we each breezed through them and exchanged them as fast as we could! Those are special memories.

I do know my special young man loves train travel. Will I make a cross country trip with him? Ha ha, need to work on so many logistics. I have heard great things about thr Canadian transcontinental train. Maybe one day? Maybe one day!

Visited a train museum !

  2. What a beautiful tapestry of memories you’ve woven here! I love how you’ve captured those precious, simple moments—the breeze through the windows, the stack of pocket-sized crime novels traded back and forth with your mom, the taste of home-cooked food while the landscape changes outside. There’s something truly magical about train travel that creates these intimate pockets of time with loved ones, doesn’t it?

And the thought of one day making a transcontinental journey with your special young man—what a dream to hold onto! The Canadian train journey through the Rockies is supposed to be absolutely breathtaking. Those “maybe one day” dreams are so important; they give us something beautiful to look forward to and plan around. I hope that day comes for you both, and that you’ll create a whole new chapter of cherished train memories to add to your collection.🌷🌷🤝
