A nap?

What activities do you lose yourself in?

I would say napping! Looks like I have already written for this prompt but completely forgot about it!

I keep a timer for 15 minutes! The timer yells so fast! The same timer 15 minutes goes so slow when I am on a non preferred activity 😀!

A power nap is like no other happiness and my opinion we should be able to wake up fresh on our own! But when a timer or an alarm goes off it jerks our body and makes it uncomfortable!

Maybe one day we live in a world that rushes little.

I have never woken up to the sound of a cock! Are we more relaxed waking up hear their sound? Maybe someone who has please chime in please. 🙂

  1. What a delightful and relatable reflection! Your description of the 15-minute timer made me smile—it’s so true how time behaves differently depending on what we’re doing. The way you captured the simple joy of a power nap and the wish for a slower, gentler world is really charming. A lovely, lighthearted piece that many people will surely relate to. 😊

  3. What a delightful and relatable reflection on napping Ganga! I love how you’ve captured the hilarious paradox of time perception – how those same 15 minutes can feel like a blink when you’re cozy and napping, yet drag on eternally when you’re doing something you’d rather not be doing. Isn’t it funny how our brains play those tricks on us?

Your observation about alarms vs. natural waking is so insightful! There really is something jarring about being yanked from sleep by an artificial sound versus gently floating back to consciousness. That jolt almost defeats the purpose of resting, doesn’t it? A power nap should leave you feeling refreshed, not like you’ve been startled awake by a fire drill!

I chuckled at your rooster comment too 😊 Having grown up in the countryside, I can confirm that roosters aren’t always the peaceful alarm clocks movies make them out to be! Sometimes they start at 4 AM and don’t stop, and trust me, that’s its own special kind of frustration! Though I will say, there is something lovely about waking to natural sounds – birds chirping, gentle rain, or even distant farm animals doing their morning thing. It feels less like an interruption and more like gradually rejoining the world.

Your hope for a less rushed world is beautiful. Maybe we should all advocate for “nap-friendly” workplaces and rooster-friendly neighborhoods! 😄 Sweet dreams for your next power nap!

  4. Ganga I have a short nap every afternoon and wake up bright eyed and bushy tailed. I guess that’s a power nap.

  5. A nap, a good book or a good movie. Losing yourself in time, especially as a caregiver, is a simple pleasure and luxury. 🙏
