Situations create boredom!

What bores you?

During pandemic time there were jokes going on about being idle and how hard it is!

Non preferred activity bores you and that activity that is routine also bores you!

Isn’t that the reason everything is themed now from shopping malls to games.

My younger son is watching the Olympics ice hockey finals (US vs Canada) and my husband watching the cricket match ((India vs South Africa) on their phone as I tried to make them a grand Sunday morning breakfast.

South Indian breakfast idli, vadai, sambhar, chutney and kesari!

Yes, no argument that both the matches were not on our big screen TV but on their individual phones, but my effort did not get the appreciation it deserved! Atleast everyone finished their plate!

Maybe another Sunday when we are all together I may just be bored and not put in that effort!

  1. I feel more and more families are becoming disconnected 😢 it’s sad, that we simply can’t sit at a table and talk with no phones. From an autism perspective we need the practice, we need to build our social skills. That’s why I wrote this 💕 https://livingwithdan.com/autism-neurodiversity/autism-communication/

    1. Thanks for sharing. My severly autistic son was the only person on the table with no device! The typical people are engrossed in their own devices.

  2. No TV or phone during meal time at my home.
We uninstalled the TV in 2023, so living happily without it.
We do have phones but once meal is served on the dining table, they are not allowed.

    1. It looks like a privilege when ur college going kids joins you at the table. It takes a while to realize that the food has not been appreciated! Not
because he doesn’t like but he is not mentally present!!! Glad you have banned phone for the family.

  4. Olympics on one phone. Cricket on another. And a royal South Indian spread in between.
Honestly, idli and vadai with sambhar and chutney already win the gold medal. And that halwa? The grand finale.
Empty plates are silent applause. 😄
