What books do you want to read?
The past few days has been I am stumbling onto Tamil poetry. My mother tongue is Tamil தமிழ்.
Sunday it was Kambar’s Ramayanam and it was Arungirinathar’s Mayil Virutham. Yesterday was Thiruvalluvar’s Thirukural.
It is so true a saying what we have learnt is the size of our hands but that yet to learn is the size of the ocean.
There are so many online resources that I can get help and read those books which are in a language that is really hard to comprehend.
I should not say I do not have time. I just need to create the time and make it happen. At the same I should not pressure myself or feel bad about not doing the same!
That said about poetry love books based on crime. I used to read a lot before I became a mom both Tamil and English but my type of mom life does not give me time to cocoon myself with a book and nestle in a corner under covers hiding from the family with snacks! An on call mom/caregiver had to succumb to the television series. I am fine with that.
Let me see what is in store for me. I have been blessed to learn so many Sanskrit shlokas. I never in my life imagined I would be able to sit, learn and understand so many of the texts. My sincere thanks to the teachers I continue learning and enjoying and analyzing the same!
Got to go now. Hopefully me cocooned inside the house is going to be “all done” and my husband is going to take me out for some coffee this evening. Yes, the past few days I have made so many coffees and I am so bored and deserve an outing.
