The Coffee Pot

Name an attraction or town close to home that you still haven’t got around to visiting.

I find this prompt to be lucky. I checked what I wrote last year and I am happy to declare or announce I did visit that attraction.

We visited the Allegheny Portage Railroad historic site last summer. The closest National Park site to us.

So on this cold winter 🥶 day and with a winter storm warning I want to write about a road side attraction. A two hour drive for us. It is on highway I 76 with a detour and other than being a fun stop there is nothing much to it.

The Big Coffee Pot built in the 1920s was on the then, Lincoln Highway to attract customers. If you are a coffee person this a stop for you all to take a picture and enjoy the moment.

Let me see if I make it this spring or summer.

  1. This is a rich, engaging, and beautifully layered portrayal of Pura Mahadev Temple. You weave mythology, history, architecture, and living tradition into a narrative that feels both informative and reverent. The retelling of the Parashurama–Renuka legend is especially powerful, grounding the site in deep spiritual significance while making it accessible to readers unfamiliar with the story.
