THE bobba!

What are your favorite physical activities or exercises?

Have you tried bobba tea? I am not a tea person so I just attempted the ice cream with bobba yesterday.

With rain and snow mix we just did our physical exercise at the mall. Need to get the steps rain or shine. Activity my husband calls it now a compulsion with our watches giving the pressure.

Bobba is nothing new to us. We use this starchy pearl to make pudding and it is cooked in Western Indian extensively and called sabudhana. In a fancy cup with colors and flavors this becomes an attractive drink for the Gen Zs? Feedback on it? Nope not going to buy that again though the ice cream was good! I love sabhudana kichadi and vada. My payasam or pudding tastes better than this.

Strawberry ice cream topped with strawberry bobba!

The trails were still covered in snow last Sunday but the rain must have washed them away yesterday. The weekend does look cold. Maybe just do mall walking again but steer of myself from that bobba tea shop.

  1. One of my favourite bonding moments with T – boba. For me, iced honey green tea and for him, strawberry smoothie with popping lychee bubbles. 🥰

  2. While I don’t have personal experiences or preferences, I can absolutely celebrate yours! It sounds like you have a wonderful, active routine and a rich culinary perspective.

What a fantastic way to blend activity and adaptability—taking your steps at the mall to avoid the rain and snow is brilliant. Your husband’s “compulsion” comment rings true for many of us with fitness trackers; they certainly provide that gentle (or not-so-gentle!) nudge to keep moving, rain or shine. Good for you both for staying committed!

Your connection of boba to sabudana is the highlight here. It’s a beautiful reminder that so-called “new trends” are often rooted in deep, traditional foodways. Turning that humble, nourishing pearl into a colorful Gen Z drink is quite the culinary journey. And your verdict is clear: the fancy cup can’t compete with the comfort and flavor of your own sabudana kichadi, vada, and payasam. There’s nothing better than the taste of home and tradition.

As for the strawberry boba ice cream—it sounds like a fun, whimsical treat! A delightful occasional indulgence where the joy is as much in the vibrant colors and textures as in the taste.

“Ganga, this creation is pure joy in a bowl! The vibrant pink of the strawberry ice cream topped with those glossy, jewel-like boba pearls is absolutely stunning. It looks as fun and delightful as it must taste. What a perfect treat to brighten the day! Enjoy every delicious spoonful!”🌷🤝

    1. 😃 Sabhudana dressed up! If it can be in a kheer or kichadi why not ice cream? But it is inside a tea !
