Being emotional

What is one thing you would change about yourself?

Two days back I watched the movie Home Alone one. Kevin’s mom rushed back to her child from Paris taking multiple transportation and undergoing so many obstacles in her path. As soon as she reached home and hugged her son, they hear a doorbell. They were surprised to see the rest of the family behind the door. Mom asks dad how they made it. The dad replies “honey remember the next day flight you didn’t want to take? we did take that one”.

We moms are so emotional and act in an impulsive manner . Our emotions do take a good chunk of our energy. I have had many of the situations like the above, not in catching flights 😊 but you get the idea. If we have a good friend or a family member come to us and stop our emotional impulsive decisions it should be taken seriously.

Yes, I would like to make decisions without too much emotional attachment. The reason being we moms are too emotional when it comes to our kids. I am not restricting this to special needs moms but to all out there.

I truly appreciate how you’ve shared such a personal and relatable perspective, using a familiar scene from Home Alone to illustrate the emotional depth and care that mothers naturally carry. Your honesty about balancing emotion with decision-making resonates deeply and highlights both the strength and vulnerability in parenting. Beautifully expressed!
