What do you prefer?

Beach or mountains? Which do you prefer? Why?

We are off to a trail tomorrow. Checked the weather just now. It is not freezing nor does it have precipitation. Not to a National Park but to a state park just a hour from us. We live in the appalachian mountain ranges, so I am privileged with the mountains.

Growing up I lived just a few kms away from a beach and never realized how much I love them until now. I remember going with my parents late evening and getting my feet wet. My young man is not excited with water nowadays. So beaches have been a back burner. Have to start planning more beach visits for 2026.

By the way, mountains or beach we just need to live in a good place that can provide for our livelihood. I can be flexible to anything.

Since I live in a hilly city surrounded by mountain ranges my vacation choice is beach 😄!

I live amongst these hilly mountains/my neighborhood 🙂

Let’s make it interactive. What do you like or prefer?

    1. True! Beaches are crowded and mountain trails there is more silence. Thanks for commenting.

  2. That’s a beautiful way to look at it! Ganga 🌷 It’s all about finding that perfect balance in life, isn’t it? You find your peace and provision in the steadfast, grounding presence of the mountains you call home. So it makes perfect sense that your soul would yearn for its counterpart for adventure—the vast, open, and liberating energy of the beach.

Since you’ve been so wonderfully flexible, I’ll play along!

If you’re a mountain soul seeking the sea, then I must be a beach soul forever drawn to the forests. I love the endless horizon, the rhythm of the waves, and the feeling of warm sand, but something magical happens when I step into the quiet of the woods. It’s the dappled sunlight through the leaves, the crisp, earthy scent, and the secret, hushed life that thrives there. The mountains feel like a deep, steadying breath, while the forest feels like a wonderful, whispered secret.

So, while you’re soaking up the sun and listening to the ocean’s roar, I’ll be the one happily lost on a shaded trail, listening for the sound of a hidden stream.

Thank you for such a lovely and interactive conversation! Wherever we are, here’s to finding places that not only provide for our livelihood but also nourish our spirit!
