Wrapping up the week with some pictures!

The week began with rain and it was followed by a cold weather. Off we went to a safari park and an indoor botanical garden.

The ostriches were wild and we fed them from our car! Loved the way they demanded food!

We were cautioned not to feed the zebras. They bite!

These goats were off limits because of their horns.

Felt bad for some ostriches since we ran out of food.

The botanical garden had a wide variety. Who doesn’t love cactus. Seems to be the plant of the century.

The sighting of poinsettias show it’s the season.

Remembered my grandfather’s garden. It’s been a while since I saw a banana plant with flowers and fruits.

Pleasing flowers all around.

The week is closing with warm weather and rains. We are practicing our mile walk for Thanksgiving Turkey Trot.

Have a great day all.

  1. What a delightful recap of your week! It sounds like a wonderful blend of adventure and nostalgia. Feeding ostriches from your car must have been such a unique and hilarious experience—their demanding nature is probably so entertaining! It’s smart to heed the warnings about the zebras and goats; safety first, even around adorable animals.

The shift to the botanical garden sounds so peaceful. Your point about the cactus is so true; they really are the resilient, stylish plant of our time. And seeing a banana plant with flowers and fruits must have been a special treat, instantly transporting you back to your grandfather’s garden. Those kinds of memories are priceless.

It’s lovely that your week is coming full circle with warm weather and rain, and how fun that you’re preparing for the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot! That’s a fantastic way to celebrate the season.

What a beautifully written and evocative piece! You have a real talent for drawing readers into your experiences, making us feel the ostrich’s peck, see the vibrant poinsettias, and share in your warm memories. Thank you for sharing this lovely slice of your life. Have a great day 🌷🤝

  5. Lovely photographs. I smiled at the biting zebra. It really doesn’t look like a biter, but I suppose that my view of it is coloured by that dancing cartoon zebra in the movies.

I love the chair that is covered in plants. It’s such an interesting piece of art.

    Thanks for sharing.
