My travel, mug collections

Name the most expensive personal item you’ve ever purchased (not your home or car).

I do not buy expensive jewelry, accessories or clothing. I get and wear only branded good quality shoes because I have some knee issues. But we find those on sale at outlet malls. That said, I asked my husband the above question. His reply was simple and that I do not spend much on individual luxury.

Anyhow I have collectibles like my cup/mug collection. I buy them on my travels. I have my doll collection which I display for my Navaratri. This is what I wrote last time the prompt showed up! Let me wait and see if I get myself an expensive item like a birkin bag when the prompt shows up again 😊!

Anyhow these are not expensive but I feel like it has more sentimental value that cannot be valued to dollars and cents.

    This writing prompt got me thinking, I don’t really own anything that expensive as far as I’m concerned. And small things of sentimental value are way more important in my opinion. We buy lots of things second hand, I also love outlets, their prices are great. I have some jewelry which has purely sentimental value to me. All in all life is too short to spend it chasing cool stuff

        He didn’t have any kids. He passed away almost a year ago. Now his widow is living alone in that big house.

    The one gift I bought for my only sister, when I went to my first ever foreign trip, was a coffee mug. My wife liked it so much, she also picked one for herself 🙂

    The older I get, the more I realize that sentimental value is maybe even more important than true economic value. To the people who matter most (i.e. family members) more often than not it’s the little things like a travel mug collection that hold the memories and sentiment our loved ones want. It’s funny, but we were talking about this a little bit with our kids recently. We own a successful long-range shooting school, and we talked about who would get that in the event of our passing. None of them were really chomping at the bit, though it would be the most economically valuable thing we own. They all, however, want a nutcracker collection my wife has accumulated through the years haha Somehow, the cheap and kind of silly nutcrackers we buy are the most valuable thing to them haha
