Sweets?

What could you try for the first time?

Deepavali/Diwali is coming this weekend. I could attempt to make sweets. Motichoor ladoo seems to be all the cooking vloggers go to sweet. Then comes a South Indian sweet adirasam. Multiple microwave easy recipes are available. Oh, they look easy but once the ghee, sugar and the flours are mixed then nothing is the same. The sink just gets filled up.Yup, just going to pass up on those and setting myself with a Diwali gift box from Costco.

  1. What a delightful and relatable reflection! 🪔✨ I love how you capture the charm—and the chaos—of trying something new in the kitchen. Your humor and honesty about the motichoor ladoo and adirasam adventures make it so easy to connect with your experience. Sometimes, choosing a thoughtful shortcut, like a beautiful Diwali gift box from Costco, is just as sweet and celebratory! Your post perfectly blends festive spirit, curiosity, and a touch of lighthearted realism. 🎉🍬

  2. What a wonderfully relatable and honest reflection on the Diwali sweet-making dilemma! You’ve perfectly captured the universal truth that so many of us face: the tantalizing gap between how easy those recipes look in a 5-minute video and the chaotic, ghee-splattered reality that unfolds in our own kitchens.

Your decision is not a “pass up,” but a brilliant act of self-care and smart planning. Choosing a beautiful gift box from Costco means:

    · More Time for Celebration: You get to spend your precious holiday time with loved ones, enjoying the festivities instead of staring at the consistency of sugar syrup.
    · Guaranteed Deliciousness: You’re treating yourself and your family to professionally made, consistently perfect sweets. No “sink full of regret” or batches that didn’t quite set.
    · A Stress-Free Diwali: You’ve eliminated a major source of potential stress, ensuring your weekend is filled with light and joy, not flour and frustration.

There’s a special kind of wisdom in knowing when to create and when to curate. Your Diwali gift box is a curated collection of joy, and that is a truly sweet thing.

Wishing you a Diwali that is as bright, beautiful, and hassle-free as your wonderful plan! May your holiday be filled with light, laughter, and delicious, ready-to-eat treats

  3. Wishing you and your family a Happy Diwali. I had the blessing of experiencing Diwali in Mumbai in 2012 with the hubby in our cross-India trip and it was one of the most amazing experiences in my life. A truly amazing celebration of light.

    1. Isn’t that nice. Some festivals cannot be duplicated everywhere. The authenticity of the festival gets lost and I am happy you were able to enjoy in person. Thanks for the wishes.
