To make a three hour movie review is not my cup of tea but I have a blog and experessing my feelings is not wrong.
Last month an Indian movie “Coolie” was released with all pomp. In fact it didn’t have any new actors just those from my school age period. They named it Pan India movie . I am fan of each one of those actors and I asked my husband if we could all go to the theaters to watch the same. It was a busy summer week and I left it like that. My husband then watched some trailers and told me the movie is so violent and he doesn’t want to waste money on that. We ended visiting two National Parks that weekend and drove 1200 miles !
It was all forgotten but I kept watching reels how the movie has been rated “A” or adults only and kids were not allowed. I was surprised since as a kid I loved all these actors who acted in the movie. So when I opened my Prime page and saw the movie on it, I had to start watching it. I watched one third of the movie alone and the rest two thirds I did finish off watching with my husband late in the evening.
The cost of watching Indian movie is more in the theaters here and along with snacks it would add up to more than 100 dollars for a family of four. As the movie ended we both said we saved that cost.
Now comes the review! How can they just make a movie so violent? I think other than people killing each other there was nothing in the movie. The villain, I would call him cockroach was so strong he wouldn’t die. He was killed in the last scene and was buried in a deep hole. I am so scared he is going to come out of it and a part two of the movie would be made!
Action was just a part of Indian movies. It looks like the current generation just likes action or violence. It makes me think am I getting too old or has the tend changed? Yes, a movie which had all my favorite actors just turned zero from my point of view.
