Special Mom’s blog

Everyone remembers what they were doing on September 11th when the planes hit the World Trade Center. Just in May of that year we had been on top of it with my mom, my cousin her family and her mom. Little did we know that place would not be there anymore soon.

My young man was four. I remember watching CBS news saying World Trade Center had been hit. I didn’t think of it as a big deal and went shopping to get clothes for his school which was starting the next day. When I came back, got hooked onto all news channels. Yes, until then we never saw Fox News or CNN. Just morning weather on our local CBS station.

My mom was there with me all 2001 summer to help me out. By end of August she left for India and we could send her off at the gate . Yes, from Boston International Airport we could just walk her to the gate until she walked into the plane. Yes, I remember that so clearly since we both were emotional and couldn’t express it.

Travel has changed a lot since then. It is now easier and lot cheaper to travel but passing airport security is still such a hassle for all.

How should I finish this piece of memory that happened almost a quarter century ago? Praying for all the souls. Praying for peace and harmony and keeping our hopes high everone will be safe in this world without fear.
