A catalyst?

What motivates you?

I have heard of a Japanese cleaning method. Keep the stuff close to your heart and if it doesn’t resonate you can discard. Finally a major closet/shelf space is being decluttered in my house.

So what was the motivation? My husband has been complaining that one key is missing and we definitely know it is inside the closet, so the clutter cleaning has started. I have also put in some craft work my young man has done inside it and I need them for my Navaratri Golu celebrations. So another reason to dig those shelves.

Anyhow found a project book my younger son did in his third grade. Wow that was ages ago! Looks too sentimental to throw away but there is no space. The folder looks good. So going to keep that and recycle the rest of the papers. Maybe take some pictures of the same for memory.

So motivation for today is a misplaced key.

As I started cleaning a beautiful South Indian Classical Carnatic concert by two sisters was on facebook live. My body and mind picked up the pace and one shelf was cleared out.

Activties that are favorable do not need much motivation but that are not favorable require a ton of cheer leaders. Just need to find the catalyst for not favorable activities in my case like today a misplaced key and good music.

Glue bottles and tapes, immense treasure.

  1. Only you could turn a missing key into a Carnatic-fueled decluttering mission—with bonus treasures hidden in glue bottles and old projects 🎶🔑📚

    1. Ha ha! This is a duplicate car key and my husband swears it is in an envelope. And it is still missing.
