A National Park in the South.

I took a week off blogging break because of a travel over the long weekend and it was hot and busy.

We wanted to make a personal offering (me and my husband) to our Guru and a trip to Dallas was planned . This was our offering and not our kids’ and I wanted to give my kids fun during the trip and not make it boring.

Dallas Hanuman Temple

So, with help of a ton of YouTubers and my National Parks App, we decided to visit Hot Spring National Park in Arkansas.

On the way back, we did stop by President Clinton’s birth home in Hope, Arkansas and had our official passport stamping done.

So how was Hot Springs National Park? We did not do much hiking or trekking but were amazed at the Hot Springs oozing out everywhere. We stayed at Arlington Resorts inside the Park, and we could shower in mineral water in our rooms.

A century old Arlington Hotel
Our room had mineral water supply and yes it was charged extra!
This was hot!
Bath house row, people cane all over the country to get treated by taking bath in the mineral water.
Old bath houses are now museums but a few still offer spa treatments!!!
Of course this water was HOT
They do sell water bottles and we can fill bottles for personal use. Yes, we did fill couple of bottles with mineral water.

This is one of the smallest parks in the National Park system and I was glad I could check it off with my boy. By the way, the weather was hot, and we did touristy stuff late in the day and early in the morning and did not spend more than a night in Arkansas.

Then there are observation towers and touristy stuff and all love to do that.
I am being a perfectionist with these passport stampings! I should let that go 😂😄! I don’t know why I make him do hand over hand !🤔

The rest of the trip was spent in Dallas, which to my surprise was not too bad weatherwise. It was busy with so much personal stuff going on. But the highlight of the trip, I DID NOT COOK FOR WHOLE FIVE DAYS! Anyhow I missed having my instant pot with me. From next trip onwards, I will not leave my house without one.

Curry Pizza and Jain Pizza , Indian food options unlimited in Dallas!

So, a big round of applause for our family as we finish our Seventh National Park since 2024 March. That takes us over the 10 percent mark.

Me putting on my sticker on to my water bottle!

When I started blogging, I wanted to do something for myself, and never did I imagine I would be blogging about my travels. As we were riding our shuttle to pick our car at from the airport, my husband was telling my younger one, “your amma would already be planning for the next park” and he is so right. Yes, that was what I was thinking.

We did make a mistake on our return flight from Dallas. Southwest Airlines is open seating, and we checked in late and had tough time getting two seats together. But there were four ladies who got up and gave me and my young man two seats together. There is so much kindness in the world. Lesson learnt, next time, need to ask for help and board in early.

  4. I love following your journey to filling in your passport. The water bottle is wicked-cool as well. Many of these places I’ll never get to, so it’s nice to hear of them from someone who has.

    1. Thanks so much. I consider it a privilege whenever I make these trips. There are many places on the list that looks unreachable but just have to wait and see.

    1. Thanks! Those ladies were great. But next time we need to ask the gate people for help. We learn lessons.
