I just looked back what I wrote on the first of May. I had the title, Gateway to summer. Yup, I thought we were done with winter, but Mother Nature had other plans. We had a lot of rain, cloudy days more than sunny days and not so hot weather. We started our gardening and I now feel, maybe we did start of too early? Anyhow, the plants need to learn, isn’t survival of the fittest in their DNA?
May surprised me with many things. We made a quick weekend trip to Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love. We also met family whom we had not met in many years.

Our trip to Mammoth Caves National Park was planned well in advance but the best part was, our family were able to do everything I had planned. In fact, we made an additional visit to Nashville from there. Nashville has one of the biggest Ganesha Temple in the US. My husband stumbled onto his college mate and his family there.

In between the weekends, my young man had multiple activities, did his mile at the Pittsburgh Marathon and kept himself and us busy. Remember, we just kept pushing ourselves even when the days were muggy and cloudy.

When my husband asked what does June have for us? I told him nothing as of now. But I do have somethings planned but I am just going to take one day at a time. I am really hoping to see some sunny days, so I can go back to my pots and plant some pretty flowers.

By the way cold weather didn’t deter us from having icecream and slushy!

By the way if you are in Bowling Green Kentucky don’t miss Chaney’s ice cream. We could not make it to the farm but had it on both the days we were there. They were yummy!
So if you have missed any of my blogs this month here are my May Highlights.
