We scratched off Mammoth Cave off our National Parks chart. Thanks to a good friend who got it for us. My younger one starred at the chart, chuckled and said good luck getting Appa (dad) to Hawaii and Alaska. Together they have 10 parks. Along with that there is one in American Samoa and one in Virgin Islands. Ha, yes, my young one is right, one vacation to Alaska or Hawaii would be like pulling his teeth out (or my teeth out), but twelve all together it would definitely be a miracle.

But I am pretty much confident we would check off all the others considering my young man is doing good. Even a few years back, I would not have thought this task would have been possible. We are planning Cuyahoga and New River Gorge National Parks both day trip for us. Yes, we have been there before but just did not do any trails. We went for a train ride or a picnic. We have definitely come a long way and that is what I am happy about.
When we were inside the cave one ranger was a bit skeptical if my young man would be able to do the tour, but we just smiled and went about. He was a bit slow during the initial descent down the stairs, but he soon picked up the pace and we led the pack along with the lead ranger. Yes, these are the experiences I want for him. It gives us the confidence and that is what is making me work with him. Yes, we were back in the gym today. There is no rest for us even after a trip. The work has just begun. I am pretty much sure; it is good for us too.
My young man was happy to be home after this trip. In fact, he helped me, and we have finished all our laundry and that is a new achievement.

The souvenir this time around was picked up by my younger one. He placed the bag inside the backpack and said, “it’s a snow globe”. I didn’t even care to check it. When I came home and unpacked I was shocked to see a bat 🦇 globe!!! No, I wouldn’t have purchased the same. Anyhow he will be inheriting it! Something for his memory too!
