Yesterday we scratched off Great Smoky Mountains from our National parks chart! Yes, it’s more than two weeks since we came back from that trip. It was done only yesterday.

Smoky Mountains were also featured in National Landmarks! So another scratch off.

I had ordered a National Park Passport. It arrived yesterday.

I thought this was for kids and had not bothered by it. But I learnt adults too use it and it is a hobby for many. It not only includes the National Parks but Monuments, battlefields and other places. In fact there are nearly 400 parks in all and you can get stamps and cancellation stamps. Yes, learning something new about a new hobby I just got into! My husband blessed this hobby of mine! Ha ha, he felt it was time consuming and not expensive and thought I maybe engaged in it without bothering him! I hope this doesn’t collect dust. If I am being successful will let you all know! 😀

Today was also Special Olympics basketball tournament! My son did great. It was crowded and very overwhelming but he managed it! Whenever we are at these kinds of event I become a humble pie. It makes me remember a Tamil poetry by Avvayar.

அரியது கேட்கின் வரிவடி வேலோய்
அரிதரிது மானிடர் ஆதல் அரிது
மானிடர் ஆயினும் கூன்குருடு செவிடு
பேடு நீங்கிப் பிறத்தல் அரிது

To be born a human is most venerable; even more revered is to be born as a human without a hump on the back, blindness, deafness or sickness…

And so it goes,,,

Still eight more days lift in March! Yes it has been a long month!
