Wet socks

Got caught in the rain today with my boy! Resulting in wet socks for both of us. His sensory tolerance is not much and he decided not to wear the wet socks! We were in a mall food court and he demanded I get a new pair!

My husband drove from home to the mall to meet us with a pair for him. Me on the other hand thought my sock would dry on its own. It wasn’t socking wet, but my socks were not 100 percent dry.

I came home, I removed my socks and breathed a sigh of relief. I asked my husband why he didn’t get me a pair of socks . He asked me, if my socks had been wet. I would say, I didn’t even feel the need to ask him, when I called him home. Yes, they had been wet and I thought I can manage.

Sometimes, as caregivers we forget our comfort and just worry about our kids. These are situations, I need to remember the airplane safety announcements. I secure myself first, then go to the kid 😃!

It is okay to take care of ourselves!

Anyway spent sucking these ketchup while waiting for my husband to show up😃!

  1. Very true that caregivers, especially moms ignore their own needs and just think of the ones in their charge

      1. Yes they are. And for those for whom we do all this, seldom acknowledge it.

  3. It’s so easy to just worry about our kiddos needs. I’m learning to think of myself too😊
