What’s your favorite month of the year? Why?
A few months back, I wrote something similar. How each season is unique and it is upto us to enjoy it or not!
We associate good and bad memories with places, dates, months and seasons. Target was the first store I visited when I landed in this country. I still have a “wow” factor associated with Target even today. I remember the smell of Tide detergent to go along with it.
If you ask me a month in particular, I would then go with December. In India, it was a time, I enjoyed doing rangoli in front of my house. I enjoyed my walks to the temples with my grandfather and later in my life alone. If I win the million dollar lottery that WordPress prompts usually talks about, I would certainly make a trip to Chennai, India every December for the Carnatic music concerts and Temple Sarkarai pongal(sweet). Ouch the prices during Christmas is beyond reach for many!
When I came to the US and my younger one turned two, we started taking our kids to various Christmas events. We have been on the polar express and been to numerous Christmas markets. Yes, the weather was much colder but our family enjoyed the atmosphere. Yes, Christmas time and December has a unique place in my heart.
Whenever my special one has a bad day, I usually do an activity in a way the day finishes off on a positive note. That helps in creating a positive memory for the day. Even a simple task of folding laundry can make us feel satisfied. Just like that, my attempt to make November look good. Here are some rose bushes. With a much warmer temperature, the bushes still have flowers. Something to enjoy. (Yes, let’s not spoil ourselves by talking global warming 😃). By the way not from my garden but just outside a church!
