We made a trip last weekend. Unlike other trips, this one involved multiple social gatherings, and I learned multiple lessons. I understood my very special boy is not a kid anymore. He is a fully grown adult. It involves more planning. I will be keeping those in mind when I make a trip like this the next time.

We came home and checked off a national park and state (Iowa) from our bucket list of places to visit. Indiana Dunes National Park was on the way to Chicago. I read very bad reviews about the park. In fact, one person wrote it does not have anything to be recognized as a national park. But our family enjoyed the beautiful dunes along Lake Michigan.

I understood what adrenaline rush was when I was in Chicago. I am still thinking about how our family executed the same. Our original plan was just to attend the Sunday morning Guru Poornima festivities. Yet, we attended other events along the way covering a national park.

I want to give a big applause to my special boy (and, of course, to my husband, who took care of him). My boy sat through the recitation of all 18 chapters of the Bhagavad Gita Saturday evening that lasted nearly 4 hours. Yes, I was nowhere near him all the four hours. He did sit the previous day for a healing concert for two hours with me, and I thought I had created a record. He did beat his own record the next evening.

Anyway, the entire trip was all about balance. Taking care of myself and, along the way, satisfying my boy.
We came home and checked off our bucket list! 😀
