Saving, spending and adventures

Are you seeking security or adventure?

Many of our friends are moving towards retirement and we are not far behind. I had a conversation with my husband as to how we should have some adventure with our savings. Life is unpredictable but we do not need to live with that fear.

My social media newsfeed is full of videos of a billionaire’s son’s marriage that happened yesterday in Mumbai. He just spent 0.2% of his income but it seems he has generated business relations more than what he has spent. So the marriage was a profitable deal😊. I think he was playing safe and not having an adventure! I am no business woman and I feel tired just looking at those videos.By the way, yesterday was National Simplicity Day! Nothing about the wedding was simple 😊. Want to know more about the wedding check it out here.

Today morning we had our community electronic recycling ♻️. People recycled their big flat screen televisions! Who needs big screen televisions when we have our smart phones 😊. My thoughts, not to invest in electronics 😊.

We are now traveling every month, and spending our weekend away. My boy loves this. Coming back home, I see him rejuvenated and happy to be home. This gives us peace.

It looks like, seeking adventure or security depends on the individual and their current state of mind and situation they are in. I think it is same for me too 😀!

Hi Uma, what did you recycle today? used that service before. Where are you going this weekend? It is very hot. I prefer security because my Mother lived to be 92 and my Grandma was 93 and my Great Aunt Hilda was 4 months shy of a hundred years old!! Genetics says I may live that long too so I will need the money I have. But adventure is fun, because none of us are promised a tomorrow. I’m happy you are having fun traveling with your family.

    1. Just a few bit and scraps we had lying around. But people did drop big TVs. Moderation is needed between security and adventure!

  2. I can’t imagine life with all that money 🙂 I feel there would be no fun if we could get what we want without thinking twice about money. We spent a month with our daughter and family in Germany. We enjoyed planning and keeping aside money. We had a wonderful time. Usually we go once a year on a vacation and it is a good change. Nice to read your post.

    1. Thanks. We don’t know what we will do if we had all the money!
