Little things add up

What quality do you value most in a friend?

We all love motivation. In fact, it helps us go through a fast-paced life. Even when someone comes and tells you, Your hair is good today, it makes us smile. If someone notices your new dress or shoes and comments something positive on them, you are thrilled. You may be having a rough day; it may help you overcome that rough patch.

Yesterday, I got an email from Fitbit saying I had achieved more than 12,000 lifetime miles, which is the distance from one pole to another. Oh, I did not do it in one day. I got my FitBit in 2017. It took me seven years to achieve the same.

It was an automatic-generated email message, and there was no physical being there to motivate me, but it did make me smile. I checked up on all my badges and was thinking, Oh, I have done so much. This means my special boy would have also done the same, as would even my husband. In fact, they would have done more. I was thrilled.

I love when someone appreciates these tiny things—nothing that is going to add monetary value but brings joy to me.

I wrote a post just ten days ago on social media. The friends who appreciate me with their simple likes or comments really make my day. Some days are harder than others, and these things make me truly happy. I am really grateful to these friends.

Loved this badge!
Thanks to those friends who commented and encouraged us!

  5. People really do not realize that little gestures and a little kindness go a long way. I really need the encouragement, and I give, but don’t always get it.
