Voting

Do you vote in political elections?

I cast my first vote in India as an Indian citizen when I turned 18.

After becoming a US Citizen, I have voted couple of times during Presidential elections. But not for any other elections.

I think voting is a privilege and everyone should exercise it. But I too am guilty that I don’t do it diligently. It can be a number of reasons. None of the candidates satisfy your requirements or you have too much work at home, politics is not in your thoughts.

Off late, I have stopped watching news channels as they are just one sided and there is nothing balanced!

I am exposed to two major democratic countries. It is not easy conducting elections and I applaud all the procedures and processes.

Anyway, it is all politics and it is always ugly!! That is a truth that everyone needs to understand.

My opinion has always been; If you don’t vote, then you have no right to complain. Only through voting and the system can you change things.
