As I blog my journey memories from the past hit me. Times that were hard, happy and a mixed bag. As me and my husband discussed why did we travel so much? My special one loved the car rides and he was too hyper inside the house. So we just put him in his car seat and took off when he did not have school. We needed to find a destination to take him and he loved the atmosphere of theme parks and one that had rides and one that was colorful. He had to be out and we just needed to engage him. I had a very good neighbor who appreciated me saying, “you guys do not hide your kid. You take him everywhere. That is really good”. Yes, it was out of desperation we started taking him out but we had so many adventures outside the home.
When we were in Boston our favorite place was Edaville. A family friendly theme park with a cranberry field and a rail road. We have been there all seasons, summer, harvest of cranberries and Christmas. My younger one’s favorite was Thomas train and he met his Sir Topham hat there. Christmas times, the parking would be hard and it would be too cold, yet we made that happen so we could enjoy our hot chocolate with Santa. Yes, these were something my special one enjoyed and we did it.

Then we moved to Pittsburgh. We had to slowly start discovering what we could do with our special one. Presque Isles, in Erie on the shores of Lake Erie has been our go to location now. We have graduated from theme parks and now for walks and hikes but our car rides continue. When things were opening up after pandemic, the city of Erie had a contest. We needed to visit five of the specified locations and enter them in an app for a gift card. I think that is one of the best adventures I did with my parents. We were tired by the time we reached our fifth location and my Mom in all her enthusiasm supported me. I can never forget that particular trip to Erie.

E is for Edaville and Erie.
