Detroit in North to Dallas in South

Our trip to Detroit was to have darshan of our Guru. We also had plans to visit the Ford Museum the next day. I do not remember the reason, but my special boy who was still a teen did not want to sleep that night. My husband decided to sit and watch him. So the next day, my husband slept outside in the car while I took the kids to the museum. We did not want to disappoint our younger one and we made that decision. Now, when we travel we take all these things into account while we plan a trip. It was one of the lessons we learnt. Anyway enjoy the pictures from the Motor City’s Ford Museum.

We have traveled nearly six times to Dallas. Five times by air and once by road. My brother’s family was there and he took us around to all the important places. Then it was followed by our multiple trips to participate in Bhagavad Gita programs for me and my younger one. Many Indians crave to move to Dallas because of the warm weather, but for me I get sick every time I travel there. It is too hot for me and it has no humidity. I also heard from lot of parents in support groups Texas as a whole is not good for special needs waiver funding. So we travel to Dallas keeping Indian restaurants in our mind. There are so many options and few days are not enough to enjoy them all. All my Golu dolls for my doll festival, I get from a shop in Dallas and on my last trip, I did purchase quiet a few of them. They just had to go and get it from there warehouse.

JFK Memorial Plaza
The X marks the place JFK was shot
Every trip we tried different restaurants
Did you know there is a Paris near Dallas 😊
And of course an NBA Team we need to meet
2017 my first Bhagavad Gita Recitation

The pandemic put a dent on our air travels too. 2022 was a chaotic year for air travel, we decided to drive to Dallas, a 2400 mile round trip. It took many years to memorize the Bhagavad Gita and I would say I put in equal effort for the trip to happen.

After 2 days on road entering Texas
Karyasiddhi Hanuman Temple
confetti, loved the kids enjoying, they had worked for it.
A once in a lifetime event for me.

I got a Guiness Certificate for the event in Dallas and therefore I would say it is one of my favorite places 😊.

Okay, my younger one got the certificate too and he also underwent tests for the same. So it should be his favorite place too.

As I write, I need to thank my husband and without whose support this trip would not have happened. Special Dads are not given the same credit as Moms.

So for A to Z Challenge this April,

Letter D is for Dallas and Detroit.
