Tattoos, me?

What tattoo do you want and where would you put it?

I love wearing henna. Yes, it is a big part of my culture. But those disappear after some time 😊.

When I was little I used to look at my maid servants’ hands. They had a lot of stuff tattooed on their hands from rangoli design to their names. So while growing up I always thought these were things done by uneducated people. But one of our household maid would proudly show me all her tattoos. She used to talk about the pain that she experienced. So psychologically I was not motivated by the same.

Coming to US and this era, I see many people wearing it and I have no issues with that. It is their choice and I have no opinion about it. But for me personally I do not want something to be permanently engraved on my body and that is my choice 🙂.

PS: If you travel to rural South India, please free to look around for ladies in their 80s or 90s. I think you can find tatooed grandmas and even some secret love affairs hidden in their skins.😊

I served in the US Military and many of them got tattoos. I never did. I can not understand why anyone would willingly scar their body for life. I also can not understand why anyone would want to suffer the pain. I realize that small ones are probably a lot less painful but still it is necessary pain. Pain is the bodies way of telling us not to do something. And yes, I am old enough to have been around when in the USA at least, it was only unsavory people that had tattoos. Then the “Tramp Stamps” came along and people started thinking it was cool. I think the reason that a lot of people today think tattoos are okay is because it has been glamourized by Hollywood. I realize that it is different in different cultures. I was just sharing my thoughts.

    1. Tatoos and piercing are part of many cultures. So it is not something new.😊
