Cupid’s Chase 5k

I took the backseat today and my husband supported my younger one as he helped his brother complete what he calls a hard work out cross country like 5k!

Red race shirt was unavailable and white available and these cool memorabilia shirts were a definite motivation for this cupid race. Both my boys adorned these shirts and did look cute! I hope you all get what available and unavailable means! It is Valentine’s Day week.

The course was hard and my younger one had a real work out with his brother who just stopped halfway through!

I was near the water station encouraging my boys and didn’t know that I was chitchatting with the Mayor of that city. The team of volunteers encouraged my family so much!

This was not a personal best but it was 220 feet climb up and the race was done in 58 minutes.A little cutie handed out the medals.

It was not a crowded race. This is the first time Washington, PA is hosting , so less than 100 participants. The race is held in 40 cities in 11 states. My boys finished last but both of them won age group champion awards, hey no one in their age group participated but who cares. They are champions. My younger one calls himself a triathlete and a cross country runner, this is nowhere near his target timing but I would definitely say a feather in his cap. I pray to God and my Guru that they do many of this kind of events and that this is just a beginning.

Two medals in one race was the first 😀

We have done Thanksgiving, Santa Race and now a Valentine’s day race and we are on a roll but the next one is not going to be until May 1st week when we plan to do Pittsburgh 5k during marathon weekend.

  1. It sounds like a lovely tradition, where participation and completion means a lot more than best times…
