Heights, Bloganuary Day 31

What’s the thing you’re most scared to do? What would it take to get you to do it?

My two feet need to be on the ground and I should not look anything below. Yes, I am scared of heights.

I cannot tolerate rides like giant wheel or go on a ski lift. I can climb up couple of floors and but I cannot look down from an open window.

So forget, jumping from an airplane or even riding a helicopter. I cannot tolerate dare devil activities.

But I am becoming much better. I went on a roller coaster ride during labor day weekend and I was not bad, in fact I had blogged all about it. The reason I was fine was my legs did not hang out!

I think a lot about why I have this fear. My parents do not have it. They went on a ski lift which, when I tried I could not do. So it is not genetic 100 percent. Is it because of some PTSD? HaHa, No I do not have any bad experiences with heights. It is plain and simple, by nature I am scared of heights.

So, the next prompt question is what would it take to get me do something that I am fearful about. Maybe if my family supported me I may take a ride on a ski lift. That is without them teasing me. But for me to jump from a plane, like parachute jumping or bunjee jumping, it should be life and death situation 😀!

I also did climb a light house recently and supported by my family looked down at the beautiful Lake Erie. 😊

Okay all, thanks for supporting me by reading my blog for 31 days. This is my third January I have blogged all 31 days with prompts provided by WordPress. I had roller coaster of emotions going through when I wrote some personal stuff. But it was fun for most part. My imaginative business proposition , a Time Machine Theme park, seems to be getting a lot of views. I learnt from this experience people really love to time travel. I think that was what my experience was when I wrote all my blogs.

My blogging journey continues even after January. I write my own blogs and I also love writing to other bloggers prompts. That is what I am going to do the rest of the year.

  1. Interesting thoughts on acrophobia and enjoyed reading.
It also reminded me of a joke.
“Conquered my acrophobia today by climbing a curb. Feeling on top of the world. Next stop, conquering the stairs. Watch out Everest, I’m coming for you”
    Congratulations for completing Bloganuary successfully.
All the best for your blogosphere 👍👍👍

  4. Well done on Bloganuary. It’s a challenge ♥️

I’m not a huge fan of heights myself. It’s the possibility of falling, I suspect.

  6. Ooh even I suffer from severe acrophobia. I can’t even go to a balcony on the first floor and look down – as it sends shivers down my whole body. So anything slightly above the ground is enough to trigger.
Also, like you said, none of my family members have the same fear .
I have been trying to conquer it for a while now- the trick is to first evaluate the risks and then take the leap anyway. Like I have tried paragliding and trekking . I love roller coasters too- as they don’t subject one to stand at the same position for a long time and plus there is this false sense of security in the form of a belt across one’s waist. 😅
But yes when you say sky diving and stuff like that- it’s a big NO for me. Even I can’t go through that.

I heard this somewhere – when we are standing on the edge of a cliff, we aren’t scared that we will fall but rather about a possibility that we could jump.

    1. 😊. Yes, it is just psychological. If mt legs are grounded I am
better off in a roller coaster.
